The House minority leader served on the committee which investigated Mr. Gingrich for tax cheating and campaign finance violations while he was House speaker in the late 1990s. He was later disciplined and fined $300,000.

White House warns about online piracy legislation

The Obama administration’s chief technology officials released a statement on Saturday warning that it would not back legislation targeting online piracy if it threatened national security and violated the First Amendment.
